At gouluru.com we are committed to maintaining the integrity and security of your personal information.

We use industry-standard encryption protocols when receiving and transferring your personal information. In fact, when you send personal information to us over the Internet, we first require that a ‘secure session’ be established using Secure Socket Layer (SSL).

SSL Explained

After you have confirmed your tour details (date and number of travellers, etc), you will then click ‘Proceed to checkout’.

Now, if you look up at your browser address bar, you will see that the beginning http part has changed to https. Put simply, the ‘s’ means that all web traffic between your web browser and our website is now using the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) – in other words, it is encrypted and secure.

Your personal information is stored in secure operating environments that are not accessible to the general public. We have security measures in place at our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information by our employees or third parties.

Experience the wonder that is Kata Tjuta (the Olgas), a series of rocky domes rising out of the Australian desert. This is a mystic place, one that is very sacred to the Aboriginal people. Learn of the surrounding desert area, before enjoying a champagne sunset and watching millions of stars come out across the desert night sky.

Leaving mid-afternoon, your guide will explain the nature of the desert and its development. A short walk to the dune lookout puts one in touch with the environment and lets you delight in the spectacular panoramic view of Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) – a very sacred place to the Aboriginal people.

Arriving at Olga Gorge, walk into this mystic place, to hear how it has evolved over millions of years. The scale of the walls and the wind far above, add a sense of mystery here, which profoundly affects all that participate. The sky blue deepens and the great domes of the Olgas flush red as the tour retires to the sunset viewing area to celebrate the fantastic color changes wrought by the sunset. Sit back with a complimentary champagne and absorb the desert solitude or relax and chat to your guide about Australia’s Red Centre. The spectacle fades as you return to Yulara (Ayers Rock Resort) beneath a sky of brilliant stars.

Uluru, or Ayers Rock as it is more commonly known, has been attracting visitors for years and now you can experience the wonder and majesty of this mighty monolith. Watch the colors change on Uluru as the sun rises, before ascending the steep climb in the footsteps of thousands before you. An awesome experience of this magical place.

Upon arrival at the base of Uluru before sunrise, enjoy breakfast (included) and watch the sunrise from the “sunrise viewing area”. Once you have completed your breakfast, you may proceed to the start of your unguided climb. Ascend Uluru and take in the magnificent panoramic views from your climb. This climb is unescorted. You will complete the climb on your own.

Upon returning to the base, your guide will return for you to take you to Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre before returning to the Ayers Rock Resort.

The Uluru climb is the traditional route taken by ancestral Mala men upon their arrival to Uluru during the creation period. Anangu do not climb Uluru because of its great spiritual significance.

Whilst climbing is allowed, the Anangu people (traditional owners) prefer that people do not climb. If on the day you decide not to climb Uluru, you are welcome to join the Spirit of Uluru for alternative touring around the base and a culturally rich experience.

Climbing Uluru is very strenuous and only those with excellent fitness should participate.

No guide to escort clients to the top. Climbing is at client’s own risk!

Explore the great Central Australian desert from the back of a camel! You can ride at sunrise, sunset or in the morning, accompanied by an expert guide who will show you the desert wildlife and plant life, and regale you with colorful anecdotes about life in this remarkable region.

Camels are ideally suited to the hot, dry climate of Australia’s interior. Imported here in the 19th century, they remained the principal means of Outback transport until railways and roads were established. Today there are an estimated 200,000 one-humped, dromedary camels in the wild. Though few camels are used by humans today, a relaxed, slow-paced camel ride is the perfect way to tour the fascinating ecology of the desert ? with the breathtaking view of Uluru as your backdrop.

Camel to Sunrise (2.5 hours):
A peaceful one-hour camel ride through stunning sand dune country with the awe-inspiring backdrop of Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). Take in the cool morning air and watch as the rising sun lights Uluru and the surrounding plains. You’ll enjoy billy tea and freshly baked beer bread after the ride.

Camel to Sunset (2.5 hours):
Travel for an hour on a friendly camel and enjoy a close-up look at the desert environment and great views of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. A refreshing glass of champagne or beer and bush snacks await you at the end of the ride.

Camel Express (1.5 hours):
Catch the Camel Train and enjoy a 45-minute ride on a good-natured camel through the classic Central Australian desert landscape, with views of Uluru and Kata Tjuta.
